Read Insights and choose better posting times

Compare account and post performance, export reports, and use account-specific posting-time suggestions without mistaking missing data for zero.

Updated

Choose the account and period first

Insights brings together available follower growth, reach, channel standing, top posts, and churn information for connected accounts. Start with the intended brand and a meaningful date range. Different platforms provide different metrics, and a publishing connection does not guarantee identical analytics on every channel.

Compare like with like: the same account, similar post format, and comparable periods. A campaign week with paid promotion or a launch can behave differently from a normal publishing week.

Turn the numbers into a decision

  1. Find the posts that performed best for the outcome you care about, rather than sorting only by likes.
  2. Read those posts and identify a concrete difference: topic, example, format, timing, or audience need.
  3. Check whether one unusual post is driving the account average.
  4. Choose one change for the next group of posts, then compare results after the new posts have had time to accumulate data.

An empty or unavailable metric is not necessarily zero. New connections, recent posts, permission limits, and provider coverage can all leave gaps. Check connection health and allow collection time before concluding that a post had no reach.

Apply posting-time suggestions

Coach's Best times to post uses available engagement history from your accounts. Inspect the suggested hours and days, including the sample information, before applying them. More observations make a pattern easier to assess; a small sample can change substantially after a few posts.

  1. Open Coach and find Best times to post.
  2. Select the relevant platform and inspect the suggested times.
  3. Use Apply to my schedule when the suggestions fit your audience and operating hours.
  4. Review the resulting posting cadence and watch the next scheduled posts in Calendar.

Best-time suggestions guide future scheduling; they do not guarantee performance. Continue to choose explicit times for events and announcements that have a real deadline.

Export and check a report

Insights offers PDF and CSV export. Set the intended filters before exporting, then open the result and confirm the account and date range. A PDF is useful for a readable summary; CSV is useful when you need to compare rows or combine the data with your own reporting.

If the report looks incomplete, check the same period in the interface and inspect connection health. Re-exporting does not create metrics the destination has not supplied.
