Review comments, replies, and engagement automation

Understand available reply workflows and the limits of the preview Facebook and Instagram inbox, keyword replies, and messaging windows.

Updated

Check access before setting up automation

Drafted replies to conversations worth joining can also appear under Worth replying to on Home and Discover. Those suggestions are different from a rule that responds to comments on your own connected accounts.

Review a reply in its conversation

  1. Open the comment or suggested reply and read enough of the conversation to understand the question.
  2. Check that the reply addresses the person rather than repeating a generic brand message.
  3. Correct facts, names, links, and any tone mismatch.
  4. Use the offered send or approve action only when the final text is ready.
  5. Check the resulting action status before sending another reply to the same comment.

AI-written engagement text is drafted for human review. The rule automation path does not automatically send language-model-written replies.

For preview accounts: choose a mode and rule

ModeBehavior
OffStops polling, drafting, and automatic engagement actions.
ReviewReads comments and prepares suggested actions; a person sends them.
AutoEligible rule-authored text can send within configured limits. AI-written text still requires review.

Rules start disabled. A rule can match keywords, questions, or any eligible comment and perform a supported public reply, private reply, welcome follow-up, or like. Keywords match whole words without case sensitivity, so guide can match #guide but not guidebook. Include ad comments only when that is intended.

Understand private-reply limits

Private replies are tied to a comment; they are not a broadcast to followers. The implemented workflow allows one private reply per comment within seven days. A follow-up conversation requires an inbound reply from the person and uses a 24-hour messaging window.

Brand caps and per-recipient limits also apply. If a message is blocked by a time window or a limit, changing the copy does not reopen the window. Inspect the action reason and wait for a supported interaction rather than creating repeated rules.

For a keyword link workflow, use a narrowly scoped rule, verify the link, keep the automation disclosure, and test in Review mode before enabling Auto.
