Edit a video, add captions, and export an MP4
Use Studio's video timeline to trim and arrange clips, add text and audio, check captions, and export a video for a supported channel.

Start a short video in Studio
Studio handles manual video editing in the same workspace as still designs. Choose a video format, then Upload a video, From your library, or From one of your designs. You can also start with a video template. Manual editing is distinct from the separate AI video tools that are currently unavailable.
Ordinary short-video documents support up to 180 seconds. Free includes bounded exports, currently three per day, and only one export can run at a time per user. Long-form video and 4K are presented as coming soon; do not choose a plan solely to access an announced future workflow.
Arrange clips on the timeline
A continuous timeline uses one clock for visual layers and audio. A logo or music track can span scene markers without being duplicated. Higher visual tracks appear in front of lower ones. Clips on the same track cannot overlap.
- Place the video, images, text, and audio you need, then drag clips to the intended start times.
- Trim a clip by its edges. Use another compatible track when two clips need to overlap in time.
- Select one unlocked clip, place the playhead inside it, and choose Split or press S while the timeline has focus.
- For a video split, wait for source metadata to load, turn off looping, and leave at least 0.1 seconds on each side. A disabled Split control explains the remaining restriction.
- Use Space to play or pause and inspect transitions, text timing, and the final frame.
Make speech and captions understandable
When transcription is available for the clip, use its caption workflow and then proofread the result. Correct names, technical terms, punctuation, and timings. Captions are editable visual content; do not assume an automatic transcript is ready to publish.
Use the audio controls for volume, fades, and ducking. Listen to the export as well as the preview, especially where music competes with speech. An audio clip's split can be unavailable inside a fade because cutting there would change the sound.
A video can contain up to 160 visual clips and eight audio clips. Empty tracks do not increase those limits. Scene markers help navigation; they do not create separate ownership of the clips that cross them.
Export, inspect, and publish
- Wait for the latest edits to save and choose the offered video export option.
- Wait for export to complete before starting another render.
- Play the resulting MP4 from beginning to end. Check speech, captions, crop, black frames, and the ending.
- Attach the exported video to a post for a supported destination and complete its review fields.
- Confirm the post's status after scheduling or publishing; an exported MP4 is not itself a published post.
