Updated
Choose how the post gets a time
| Option | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Save as drafts | The copy or media still needs review. |
| Next free slot | You want the post to follow the brand's cadence and available slots. |
| Pick a time / Schedule | The post must go at a specific future date and time. |
| Best time | You want the next suggested time based on available account performance data. |
| Schedule all | You have reviewed the Approved queue and want to distribute that batch across slots. |
Approve a draft before using the queue's scheduling controls. Check the timezone and destination when assigning a specific time. Calendar shows the schedule and lets you move scheduled posts to another day.
Configure a realistic cadence
Next free slot uses the brand's posting times, active weekdays, and daily limit, looking up to 14 days ahead. Set a cadence you can sustain and review rather than filling every opening with weak material.
Settings → Publishing preferences has per-platform daily limits from 0 to 20. A zero limit turns off automatic slot-based posting to that platform. These limits pace posts without a specific time; an explicitly scheduled post can still publish. Daily counts use UTC, which may not match midnight in your local timezone.
Review, Auto, and Off
| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Review | Drafts wait for approval. Approved and scheduled posts can publish automatically. |
| Auto | The system can approve the oldest drafts within the brand's limits. Channel-specific review requirements still apply. |
| Off | Pauses new automatic drafts and automatic publishing, including scheduled posts. |
Move or remove an upcoming post
- Open Calendar and locate the post under the correct brand view.
- Move it to the intended day or open its Schedule control for a precise time.
- To remove it from the calendar for more work, use Move to draft in the Review queue.
- Recheck the post after the change so the destination, status, and time match your intent.
- After a paused period, inspect overdue or queued posts before enabling automatic publishing again.
If no slot is available, check the active weekdays, times, daily limit, and existing scheduled posts. Raising a limit is useful only if you actually want a higher posting frequency.
Frequently asked questions
Why did a scheduled post publish when my daily limit was zero?
The daily limit paces automatic posts without a specific time. Explicitly scheduled posts are separate. Use Off publish mode to pause automatic publishing, including scheduled posts.
Does Approve mean publish immediately?
Approval makes a post eligible for publishing. Its actual send depends on scheduling, available slots, publish mode, channel requirements, and holds. Use Publish now when an immediate send is intended.
